Welcome to Introduction to Scandinavia (ISCAN)

This website offers information about the course Introduction to Scandinavia (ISCAN).

ISCAN is a course offered each semester to international students who would like to learn more about Denmark in the context of Scandinavian history, culture and politics.

ISCAN lectures are held on Wednesday afternoons from 16.30-18.15 in Lecture Room 5.125 in Rendsburggade.

Funding for ISCAN is provided by the three Faculties of Aalborg University: The Faculty of Humanities, The Faculty of Social Sciences, and The Faculty of Engineering, Science and Medicine.

It is possible for exchange/guest students to earn five (5) ECTS credit points (as a free study activity) for completing a number of requirements.

The research essay should include a bibliography of at least 25 pages (maximum 100 pages) of primary or secondary sources. The essay topic must in some way relate to topics of Scandinavia. Deadline for submission to your supervisor and the ISCAN coordinator is May 1st.

Join the Film Club!

On the spring semester we give you the opportunity to watch two Danish films (with English subtitles). You can watch the films for free! The films will be shown in Rendsburggade, room 5.125, on February 17, from 17:00-21:30.
